In order to ensure students remain engaged and enjoy The School Fund community of which they are a part, it is important to establish a culture in which students feel supported and accepted by their peers and mentors. To that end, the Director of Programming will oversee the implementation of a student-led activity team that is responsible for managing and maintaining engagement through a variety of activities, including, but not limited to, sporting events and leagues, team-building exercises, and movie night events. This individual would also be responsible for rewarding students for good behavior and positive effort, including strong attendance records, strong effort based on coach's reports, and for being overall positive community members. The Director of Programming would also talk to students with poor attendance and levy punishment or consequences upon students that are negative community members. The activities afforded to students in the TSF community should not only act as a reward and punishment system, but also to support their academic development and career opportunities. This is the type of positive learning community that will best support students and that the Director of Programming should strive for with the support of one or more individuals.
